The Cairn Terrier is responsive to its owner's wishes and tries to please. They are also suprisingly sensitive. The Cairn needs outdoor exercise daily consisting of either a mild walk or a fun game. The Cairn loves to be active with its owners. |

The Cairn's coat needs to be brushed weekly to maintain a clean appearance. Also, it does not shed so there are no worries about hair covered furniture in the hot seasons. The average lifespan of the Cairn is 12 to 15 years. The female grows to a height of about nine inches while the male usually exceeds ten inches. The modern Cairn also comes in a variety of colors. |
